IF THE Limerick District League Premier League is not decided by Saturday, Fairview Rgs will have the chance to win their first league title since 2003 when they welcome Aisling Annacotty to the Fairgreen on Sunday.

Fairview have been excellent to date and but for a rare slip in a 1-1 draw with Nenagh last week, they would already have the trophy under wraps.

They will be looking to seal the deal here rather than have to go to the final game at Newport.

Current champions Aisling Annacotty stand in their way and will be keen to make the Blues earn their success.
Pike Rvs will take on Janesboro needing a win and a miracle on the other side.

The Division 1B Cup semi-finals see Glenview Rgs at home to Newport and a cracker on offer when Croom Utd host Shelbourne.

It’s also semi-final time in the Division 3A Cup. The top two sides in the league meet when Fairview C host Prospect while Caherdavin welcome a good Athlunkard Villa XI.

Regional Utd v Pike Rvs and Mungret Reg v Corbally Utd will decide who contests the Youth Premier Cup final while Saturday also sees the Under 17 Division One League Play Off between Pike Rvs B V Geraldines.

The Division 1A Cup final promises to be an enthralling affair when Pallas Utd host Star Rvs. Boasting two of the most prolific strikers in the league in Vinny Ryan (Pallas) and Arron Nunan (Star) suggests we may have goals galore.

However, in their league meeting a scoreless draw was followed up by a 1-0 win for Star so we can expect a close game.

Star have already achieved their goal of promotion so Friday’s game is a bonus. For Pallas, their promotion charge just fell away in the latter stages so they will see this as a chance to redeem the season.

Midweek action of note on Thursday evening sees the first of the Lawson Cup semi-finals scheduled when Fairview Rgs host Aisling.

With the two sides meting again three days later in a vital league game it remains to be seen what effect that will have on proceedings.

Fairview no doubt will need to keep one eye on the weekend while Aisling can go all out for this one as they look to salvage something from the season.

In the Premier League, Fairview’s requirement to pick up one point from their final two league games would be made redundant if Pike fail to take full points at Hyde Rgs.

After their defeat on Sunday, it remains to be seen how the players can lift themselves as they hope Fairview stumble in their remaining games.

A win for Shelbourne in Division 1B at home to Nenagh would put them second in the table with a game in hand on nearset challengers Croom.

Balla need ten points from their last five games to be crowned champions and they kick off that quest on Thursday at Castle Rvs.

Kilmallock B have not given up the fight yet as they host Coonagh Utd.

In Division 3A, Fairview Rgs C will be crowned champions if they avoid defeat in their game at Newport C.
