Ahane missed out on the qualifying for the knockout stages of the Limerick senior hurling championship last year. John Meskell remains as manager of the east Limerick club.

Meskell's charges won the east league earlier this year and they were defeated by Kilmallock in the league semi-finals. Ahane are strongly backboned by Morrissey brothers Tom and Dan.

Captain Ciaran Barry and Evan O'Leary who was part of the Limerick senior hurling pre-season squad earlier this year are key players in defence for the Lisnagry based club.
