MET ÉIREANN has issued a status yellow weather warning with temperatures set to plunge below freezing later this week.
The national forecaster has cautioned of "hazardous conditions" on roads in Limerick and across Ireland from 10pm on Thursday night to 10am on Friday morning.
"A sharp to severe frost with icy surffaces as temperatures widely fall to minus four degrees Celsius," they said.
The warning, which was issued this lunchtime, warned of disruption due to the icy surfaces.

A general winter weather advisory for the whole country is in place at present.
Met Éireann says it will be "very cold into early next week."
This is because an Arctic airmass will set in, bringing with it sharp to severe frosts, and ice or black ice on roads and footpaths.
"Some showers of hail, sleet, and snow will occur," they added, "Potential for freezing fog too."
