GALWAY referee Shane Hynes will be the man in the middle for the Allianz Hurling League Final between Limerick and Cork on Easter Sunday.

Croke Park officials have confirmed Hynes as the referee for the April 5 decider in the TUS Gaelic Grounds, which will have a 4pm start and will be televised live on TG4.

Hynes already refereed John Kiely's Limerick during this Allianz League campaign - he was the man in the middle for the February 8 win over Kilkenny on Shannonside.

The Limerick v Cork clash will be his first top flight league final. Hynes hasn't refereed in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship to-date but the Galway man officiated the 2025 All-Ireland U20 hurling final between Tipperary and Kilkenny.

The curtain-raiser to the Easter Sunday league final between Limerick and Cork will be the Division 1B league final between Clare and Dublin.

Waterford's Thomas Walsh will referee that final, which has a 1.45 start in the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

With the scramble for tickets underway ahead of the hurling league final double-header on Easter Sunday, local clubs have been told there is an extremely limited allocation for distribution.

Correspondence sent to clubs, seen by Limerick Live, revealed allocations of just 'two to eight' stand tickets available for the hotly anticipated clash at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

While the Ennis Road venue has a capacity of over 45,000, approximately 20,000 are stand tickets.

It is believed that the four competing counties have around 10,000 season ticket holders between them, taking up half the seated capacity of the TUS Gaelic Grounds.

The four competing counties are believed to be receiving around 1,500 stand tickets each with Limerick expecting an additional 5,000 terrace tickets. Any surplus tickets will go on general sale on Monday morning.
