Gardai have confirmed a woman and a juvenile female have been charged in relation to the violent incident in Birdhill last weekend
A WOMAN and a juvenile female have been charged in connection with the serious assault of Limerick mother-of-one Scarlett Faulkner.
The pair were arrested by gardai on Thursday - five days after the serious assault that occurred on the R494 at Birdhill, County Tipperary.
The 29-year-old, from the northside of Limerick city, remains in a critical condition at Cork University Hospital after she was viciously beaten by individuals armed with weapons on March 21.
The vehicle she was travelling in was rammed off the road, at around 5pm, and she was dragged from the vehicle and attacked.
In an update, issued this Saturday morning, gardai confirmed the woman and juvenile arrested on Wednesday have now been charged.
"The two females, an adult female in her 40s and a juvenile female in her teens, arrested in connection with this investigation have since been charged.
"They are expected to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court today, Saturday, March 28 2026, at approximately 5pm," said a spokesperson.
Investigations are ongoing and gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
“Any road users who were on the R494 between Birdhill and the M7 motorway between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday, March 21 and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
“In particular, gardaí are seeking information on the movements of two vehicles, a grey 162 Ford Transit van and a blue 161 Volkswagen Touran people carrier, travelling in convoy or driving dangerously between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday, March 21 in and around Birdhill village, the townlands of Cooleen, Crag Cross, Shower Cross, Kylebeg, Annaholty and Thornhill, all in County Tipperary," said a spokesperson.
