TWO high-powered vehicles, worth tens of thousands of euro, have been seized in Limerick by members of the Criminal Assets Bureau.

The vehicles – a white 191-registered Audi saloon car and a 182-registered Ford van – were seized this Thursday morning on foot of a High Court Order under Section 2 of the Proceeds of Crime Act.

According to the Garda Press Office both vehicles were previously identified as being the proceeds of crime during a Criminal Assets Bureau investigation.

No details have been provided in relation to exactly when or where in Limerick the vehicles were seized.

The pre-planned operation is the latest to be carried out by CAB in Limerick.

Last month, more than 100 cars were seized from a car dealership in the city during a major operation targeting criminal elements and suspected money laundering.
