FLIGHTS to and from Shannon Airport could be delayed as it is "experiencing some disruptions" due to nationwide gale force winds.

The airport took to social media to warn passengers and urge them to contact their airlines.

In a tweet this Saturday night, Shannon Airport stated: "We are experiencing some disruptions to our schedule this evening due to gale force winds. Please contact your airline for full flight information. Thank you."

Power is expected to be restored by 1.30am in these areas, according to the ESB.
