Large fleet of emergency services at scene of two-car collision on Limerick motorway

A LARGE fleet of emergency services are at the scene of a double-vehicle collision on the M7 motorway in Limerick. 

As a result, The M7 is closed southbound between J27 Birdhill and J28 Castletroy. 

Emergency services were alerted to the incident, which occurred between Birdhill and Annacotty, southbound, at 9.01am. 

Five Fire Service units from Mulgrave Street and Newport were dispatched to the scene and remain at the scene. 

Members of An Garda Siochana and the National Ambulance Service are also at the scene. 

It is not known yet how many people are involved in the incident.
