A TEENAGER has been airlifted to hospital following an accident in County Limerick this Sunday morning.
The 18-year-old was driving a tractor and trailer when the incident occurred at Fairyfield, Kilmallock at approximately 11am.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Emergency services including an air ambulance, the fire service from Kilmallock and gardai from Bruff, have attended the scene of the crash.
“The young man was found on the road. He was transferred to University Hospital Limerick by air ambulance and has been stabilised,” said a spokesperson for the fire service.
A technical examination of the road is being carried out and the road remains closed to traffic.
It is understood the young man was travelling in the direction of Kilmallock when the accident occured at a bad bend. He is not understood to be from the local area.
