MOTORISTS in Limerick have been warned to take care on roads due to are icy conditions across the county this Monday morning.
There was another snowfall overnight and some roads are reported to be "very icy". There are reports that a number of motorists had to abandon cars in parts of the county as they could not drive up slippery roads.
Limerick Fire Service was alerted to the scene of a double-vehicle collision in Knockane, Newcastle West.
The Newcastle West Shanagolden Road (R521) is now closed north of Ardagh as recovery services deal with a truck off the road.

Walkers are also warned to be on their guard with many footpaths said to be “lethal”.
