A MAN in his 20's has been arrested following the seizure of €100,000 worth of cannabis herb in Limerick city yesterday, March 5.
Gardaí from the divisional drugs unit based in Henry Street garda station carried out a search of a vehicle in the city at around 6.30pm yesterday evening.
During the course of the search, they seized approximately €100,000 of cannabis herb and a man in his 20's was arrested and brought to a garda station in the city.
The man is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

A garda spokesperson told Limerick Live that investigations are ongoing.
The drugs were seized as part of Operation Tara, a national anti-drugs strategy, which was launched by the garda commissioner in July 2021.
Operation Tara aims to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels — international, national, and local — involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production, and local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
