Eimear Noonan from Feakle had worked as a teacher near Lyon
A YOUNG woman from Clare who went missing has been found dead in France.
Eimear Noonan, who hails from near Feakle in Co Clare, went missing from her home in the south-east of the country last Wednesday.
After friends and family launched a search for her, there was heartbreak yesterday after the 21-year-old was found dead. She sustained a fall while out running in the French countryside.
She had been missing from her home in the French town of Annonay, around 76km south of Lyon since last Wednesday.
Concerns for her whereabouts were raised when she failed to turn up for work as a teaching assistant in a local school.
Her family had travelled to France to assist in the search for Ms Noonan, while friends and relatives in Ireland appealed for help on social media.
Last night, her brother Cathal took to Facebook to confirm the devastating news.
Ms Noonan had been living in Annonay since September where she worked as an English language teacher.
