GARDAI have launched an investigation into a drive-by shooting in a housing estate on the southside of Limerick city.

A nine second video of the gun attack, which has been widely shared on social media, has been seen by Limerick Live.

It shows the gunman, who is driving the car, slowing down outside a property in the Southill area. The car then stops on the road while at least four shots are fired from a handgun.

The weapon appears to jam at the end of the video clip. The shooter, who is being filmed by a person in the passenger seat, is wearing gloves and a balaclava.
