LIMERICK Dragons are hoping to shine a spotlight on the importance of early detection, support, and education in the fight against breast cancer this October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Limerick Dragons was formed in 2016 by a group of breast cancer survivors and their supporters. After much fundraising they bought their first dragon boat in 2017. They are based in Cleeves car park and can regularly be spotted paddling between
Thomond Bridge and Shannon Bridge on their 40-foot dragon boat with up to 22 paddlers making their way on the River Shannon.
This Thursday, October 26 at 8:30pm, the Limerick Dragons will host a fundraising table quiz at Bobby Byrne's Pub.
Tickets can be purchased on the night and it's €40 for table of four.
Limerick Dragons has gone from strength to strength in recent years.
It has become a strong support network for people after cancer treatment although you do not have to be a cancer survivor to join.
The group accept all adults, all genders, over 18 but priority for membership will always be given to breast cancer survivors as that is the core of the club.
The table quiz promises to be filled with laughter, friendly competition, and the satisfaction of knowing that contributions go towards making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
