The bin at the entrance of Baggot Estate in Ballinacurra which was set on fire
A LIMERICK man has called continuous anti-social behaviour in his local area “terribly disappointing.”
The man who wishes to remain anonymous and is from Ballinacurra Weston shared his concerns as a public bin was set on fire outside the popular Baggot Estate nature walk.
“Baggot Estate is a beautiful amenity and nature walk, that runners/joggers and walkers avail of including myself.
“Unfortunately, anti-social behaviour is gripping the area lately, with young people drinking alcohol and evidence of drug use also,” the man said.
“The bin will now have to be fully replaced, which costs money to Limerick City and County Council, all that remains is a mound of congealed rubbish and incinerated waste of burned plastic, bottles and other household waste.”
The man also said the misuse of scramblers is “terrifying those who avail of this fabulous area”.
“It is a sad reflection that this is happening in such a wonderful area here where I have many friends,” he said.
