Nenagh Courthouse
A PROBATION report has been sought in the case of a Limerick a man who acted as a lookout while an accomplice broke into a parked car in Nenagh.
Noel Power, with an address in Rhebogue Hill, Rhebogue in the city pleaded guilty to a theft charge relating to an incident at Hanly Place, Nenagh, on August 22, 2021.
Nenagh District Court heard that a car had been broken into at 11am that day and items valued at a total of €300 stolen. They have not been recovered.
Mr Power’s solicitor, David Peters, told the court that the theft had been a “joint enterprise”. He said his client had been with another gentleman and his client had been the lookout while the incident was happening.
The reason the property had not been recovered, he said, was because his client would say he didn’t have the property.
The court heard Mr Power had 165 previous convictions, including 20 for theft.
Judge Elizabeth MacGrath adjourned the case to July 27 to facilitate the preparation of a victim impact statement and a probation report.
