IN PICTURES: Bumper attendance at UL to watch Liam Kearns Memorial Tournament

A BUMPER attendance turned out to watch the Liam Kearns Memorial GAA tournament which took place at the University of Limerick last week.

The Limerick garda division launched this tournament in memory of members who have passed away, in particular Liam Kearns who managed a number of county teams, including Limerick, Tipperary and Offaly.

Teams made up of garda from across the country battled it out against each other to win the tournament.

This GAA tournament is a fitting way to remember a football legend that was Liam Kearns.

The late Liam Kearns, a native of Tralee, died following a sudden illness in March of this year at the age of 60.

He was based in Limerick having served at Mayorstone garda station in Limerick city and he was primarily involved in training gardai until his retirement.
