Sing when you’re winning with friendly Limerick choir

The Curraghgower Singers meet every Monday night in Lisnagry NS
AS THE EVENINGS draw in, if you are looking for a new social outlet and can carry a tune then the Curraghgower Singers could be for you.
Directed by Timothy Schinnick, and with members from Limerick city and county, they are based in Lisnagry National School. The singers meet every Monday night from 7.10pm to 9.30pm with a break for a social chat and a cup of tea or coffee.
Over the years they have performed at many choral events and raised much needed funds for charities including Enable Ireland, Thomond House, Novas and the Adare Branch of the Irish Red Cross .
Each year, the Curraghgower Singers take part in the annual Wild Geese Festival at the invitation of the Honorary Consul of France. A highlight of their choral year is their participation in the National Day of Commemoration Ceremony in City Hall. This is a very moving and poignant celebration of remembrance with many ex-servicemen in attendance.
While the singers love performing they also like a good social night out with music and song. For many years they have travelled to The Rose Hotel in Tralee for a choral training weekend which entails line practices, group singing and lots of laughs along the way.
The group asks those interested in joining a friendly group of people who love to sing to come along to Lisnagry NS at 7.10pm on Monday, September 21 for a no-obligation open rehearsal. All are welcome.
