GAA Coverage in association with Lyons of Limerick Ford

Goalkeeper: Conor Hanley Clarke (Kilmallock)
Honourable mention: Jamie Power (Monaleen), Cathal Ryan (Ahane)
KILMALLOCK goalkeeper Conor Hanley Clarke capped off a fine season with a wonderful display in the county final. As well as being one of the top shot-stoppers in the county, his long-range frees were also invaluable to the champions.
Full-back line: Cian O’Donovan (Doon), Emmet McEvoy (Na Piarsaigh), Jackie Dwane (Kilmallock)
Honourable mention: Bryan Canny (Monaleen), Matthew Ftizgerald (Monaleen).
JACKIE Dwane was the breakout star of the Whitebox Senior Hurling Championship this season. The teenager showed great maturity and invariably won his individual battles. Cian O’Donovan and Emmet McEvoy too posed tricky customers for forwards around the county this year.
Half-back line: Colin Coughlan (Ballybrown), Ciaran O’Connor (Kilmallock), Lorcan Lyons (Monaleen)
Honourable mention: Brian Barry (Mungret-St Pauls), Diarmaid Byrnes (Patrickswell).
CIARAN O’Connor was a rock at the heart of the Kilmallock defence all year and gets the number 6 shirt on this selection. On the flanks, we have given nods to Colin Coughlan and Lorcan Lyons, whose match-winning point in the quater-final will long be remembered.
Midfield: Adam English (Doon), William O’Donoghue (Na Piarsaigh)
Honourable mention: Micheal Houlihan (Kilmallock).
INTER-county duo Adam English and William O’Donoghue both won All-Star awards last week and continued this form in club colours. English continuously racked up big personal tallies as Doon recovered from a stuttering start to run Na Piarsaigh close in the SHC semi-final. O’Donoghue got a superb goal in the final but it wasn’t enough as the Caherdavin men lost their title.
Half-forward line: Fintan Fitzgerald (Mungret-St Pauls), Peter Casey (Na Piarsaigh), Con Hayes (Newcastle West)
Honourable mention: Tom Morrissey (Ahane), Brian O’Meara (Mungret-St Pauls), Oisin O’Reilly (Kilmallock).
AFTER seeing game-time in the All-Ireland final, Fintan Fitzgerald went from strength to strength in the red of Mungret-St Pauls. Peter Casey also continued his superb Limerick form into the club game while Con Hayes played a key role as Newcastle West secured a three season of senior hurling.
Full-forward line: Jason Gillane (Patrickswell), Shane O’Brien (Kilmallock), Pierce Connery (Kilmallock).
Honourable mention: Donal Coughlan (Doon), Patrick Kearney (Adare).
A HAT-trick against Garryspillane was the highlight of an impressive campaign from Jason Gillane. After playing in goals in recent seasons, it was a note-worthy return out the field for Gillane. Kilmallock duo Shane O’Brien and Pierce Connery were key to the Balbec reclaiming the Daly Cup.
