Deaths in Limerick - February 21, 2018

The death has occurred of James Deere, 71 Castleview, Newcastle West.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary, sons Joseph and Jimmy, daughters Maureen, Patricia and Olivia, grandchildren, Aaron, Jake and Molly, son-in-law, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Riedy's Funeral Home in Newcastle West this Friday 23rd February from 6pm to 8pm, arriving at Newcastle West Church at 8.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday 24th February at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in Churchtown Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Milford Hospice.

The death has occurred of Patrick Gammell,Chapel Lane, Rathkeale, peacefully at home.

Deeply regretted by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, large extended family circle and friends.

Reposing at Magner's Funeral Home, Rathkeale, Thursday (Feb. 22nd) from 2pm followed by removal at 4pm to St. Mary's Church, Rathkeale. Funeral on Friday (Feb. 23rd) after 11.30am Mass to the adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) McCarthy, Castletroy, Limerick, formerly of Ballinacurra, late of J.J. McCarthy Skin and Hide Merchants, Cathedral Place, peacefully at University Hospital Limerick.

Beloved husband of Cora. Dearly loved father of Laura, Louise, Derek, Peter, Gina and Gavin, Sadly missed by his loving son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sister Maeve, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May he Rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street on Saturday evening from 4pm to 6pm followed by removal to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Milford, Castletroy. Requiem Mass on Sunday at 2pm with burial afterwards in Kilmurry Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Desmond (Dessie) McNamara, Alandale Orchard, Courtbrack Avenue and formerly of Glenview Gardens, late of Pike Rovers and Limerick FC, peacefully at Milford Care Centre. 

Beloved husband of the late Eileen. Dearly loved father of Susan, Jane and Brian. Sadly missed by his loving sons-in-law Mike and Nick, daughter-in-law Carolyn, grandchildren Jessica, Sarah, Alan, Shane, Cian and Darren, great grandson Ollie, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.

The death has occurred of Fr. Christopher O.P. (Chris) O'Brien, Dominican Priory, Dominic Street, Drogheda and formerly of Hyde Road, Limerick, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Sadly missed by his loving sister Ann, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, all his brothers in the Dominican Order, relatives and friends.

Reposing at The Dominican House, Dominic Street, Drogheda on Thursday from 10.30am until 12 o’clock and from 6.00pm until 7.30pm and on Friday morning from 10.30am until 12 o’clock and from 5.00pm until 8 o’clock with evening prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 12 o’clock followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to Palliative Care.

The death has occurred of John Greene, 15 Canon Lee Park, Pallasgreen, peacefully at the University Hospital Limerick.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Marie, daughter Yvonne,son Jonathan, son-in-law Ollie, daughter-in-law Connie. His adored grandchildren Ella and Jack, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, uncle, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. R.I.P.
