Pallasgreen GAA Club launch fundraiser for field development blueprint

PALLASGREEN GAA Club hopes to be “quids in” after their Quid Game fundraiser in October.

All proceeds from the fun event will go directly toward the east Limerick club’s extensive field development project.

“It includes the construction of a new stand and walkway, first announced earlier this year.

“It’s a vital step in improving facilities for players and supporters alike, and this fundraiser will play a key role in making that vision a reality,” said a spokesperson for the organising committee.

It was officially launched in Powers Bar with a lively and enthusiastic crowd in attendance. The event set the tone for what promises to be a fun-filled and engaging community effort.

The money raiser for Pallasgreen GAA, based very loosely on the hit Netflix show Squid Game, is a series of skills-based challenges designed to test contestants’ patience, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

A total of 29 contestants have signed up, each with a sponsorship target of €2,000.

It includes local councillor Noreen Stokes, who is joined by Aaron Greene, Aaron O'Sullivan, Caoimhe Butler, Charlie Stokes, Christian O’Dwyer, Cliodhna Ryan, Conor O'Dwyer, Darren Kavanagh, Denis O’Dea, Diarmuid Greene, Diarmuid Sheehy, Emily Franklin, Hugh Kenny, Ingrid O’Keeffe, Jack Fraher, Jilly Foley, Jimmy Hourigan, John Gammell, Mark Fennessy, Michael Hally, Owen Roche, Pa Roche, Padraic Phelan, Roisin McCarthy, Roisin O’Connell, Shane Pearse, Stephen O’Neill and William Ryan.

The games follow an elimination-style format, with one simple goal: be the last person standing to claim a cash prize not just for yourself, but also for a charity of your choice.

The launch was full of energy and excitement, with organisers sharing teasers of the challenges to come and encouraging the community to rally behind the event.

The response was overwhelmingly positive, with anticipation already building for the main Quid Game event on Sunday, October 26, over the bank holiday weekend, in the Ballykisteen Hotel.

In the lead-up to the finale, a series of events and mini-challenges will take place. Organisers  are encouraging everyone to stay tuned and show their support over the next month and a half.

See Pallasgreen GAA’s Facebook page for more information and details on all the contestants in Quid Game.

Glenroe GAA Club hosted a Quid Game event in June, which was a resounding success and, in support of their development plans.
