RIP: Limerick deaths and funeral details - Wednesday, March 18

The death has occurred of Margaret Griffin (née Collins), Ballygrennan Close, Moyross, Limerick and late of Carey’s Road, Limerick and ex Pagoda Chinese Restaurant on March 17, peacefully, at Milford Care Centre, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by daughter Tammy, son Darren, parents Martin and Annie, brother Martin and sisters Jackie and June.

Very deeply regretted by partner Tommy, sisters, brothers, daughters Anna, Shona and Mary, sons Mark and Anthony, daughters-in-law Louise and Pamela, sons-in-law Frank, Patrick and Philip, grandchildren, great grandchild, nieces, nephews, relatives, large circle of friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Cross’s Funeral Home, Lower Gerald Griffin Street, Saturday, March 21 from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Arriving at Corpus Christi Church Moyross, Sunday, March 22 for Requiem Mass at 11.15am, Funeral afterwards to Ballycannon Cemetery, Meelick, Co Clare.

The death has occurred of Ann Hanley, Glenanaar, Ardpatrick, Limerick on January 1, 2026 peacefully after a short illness in the exceptional care of the staff at Queens Hospital, London in the presence of her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Richard and Ellen Hanley siblings Eileen (Burke), Paudie and her niece Maria (Hanley). 

Ann will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters Joan, Helen, Nora, brothers Tom, Jack, Bob, Bill and Tadgh, nieces, nephews, relatives neighbours and friends.

Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 21 at 2pm in St Patrick's Church, Ardpatrick followed by the interment of Ann's ashes in Hill Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Bridie McCarthy (née O'Donovan), Church Street, Cloyne and formerly Kilmeady, Co Limerick on March, 16, peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff at Glendonagh Care Home. 

Predeceased by her husband Will, sister Pauline (McEnery), brothers Larry, Dan and Ned Donovan.

Deeply regretted by her daughters Anna (Dillon) and Martina (Carroll), sons in law Mike and Mick, grandchildren Luke, Daniel, Ethan, Cian, Amy, Leah and Emma and partners, great granddaughter Evie, brother James, sister Bessie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. 

Reposing at home in Church Street, Cloyne on Thursday, March 19 from 5pm-7pm.

Requiem Mass on Friday, March 20 at 11.30am in St Colman’s Church, Cloyne with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Predeceased by her parents Mary and John.

Reposing at Meehan’s Funeral Home, Castleconnell on Friday, March 20 from 5.30 to 7pm with removal to St Joseph’s Church, Castleconnell. Requiem Mass on Saturday, March 21 at 11.30am. Burial afterwards in St Joseph’s Cemetery, Castleconnell.

The death has occurred of Kathleen Cunningham (née Connolly), Ballyguiltenane, Glin, Co Limerick and formerly of Aughrim, Moyvane, Co Kerry, peacefully, on March 17, in the wonderful care of Milford Care Centre, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved daughter of the late Hannah Connolly.

Funeral arriving to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Glin on Saturday morning, March 21 at 11.45am, with the Requiem Mass for Kathleen being celebrated at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in Ahavoher Cemetery, Moyvane.

Beloved husband of Marie. Dearly loved father of Sharon (Ryan) and cherished grandfather of Killian and Eoin. Sadly missed by his son-in-law Bosco (Padraig), his three sisters in London; Annette, Joan and Nora, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at St Nessan’s Church, Raheen on Friday, March 20 from 4.30pm to 6pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, March 21 at 11.30am followed by burial in Castlemungret Cemetery.

Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, March 23 for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mount St Lawrence (Extension) Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Pat Scollard, Gardenfield, Dromcollogher, Co Limerick and formerly of Ballyhahill Co Limerick, age 87 years, peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff at UHL, on March 17.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Kathy (nee O'Sullivan), sister Peig (Cregan) and brother John.

Sadly missed by his loving sons, Edward, Roger, PJ and William, daughters in law Mirka, Eimear and Margaret, his adored grandchildren Megan, Katie, Liam, Darragh, Ciaran, Aine, Eamonn, Niamh, Ivy and Elin, brother Bill, sisters-in-law Ann, Catherine, Nora, Anna, Eileen, Margaret and Crissie, nieces, nephews, neighbours, friends and extended family.
