The death has occurred of Colette Holmes (née Boland) of Limerick City, Limerick

Colette Holmes (nee Boland), (Limerick) August 22, peacefully at Milford Care Centre. Beloved wife of the late Dr. John A. Holmes.

Dearly loved mother of Ken, Sue, Alan, Paul and the late Marguerite. Sadly missed by her loving sisters Sheila (Dearing, Vancouver), Patricia (Dowling, Dublin) and Deirdre (Bolger, Gorey), daughters-in-law Kathleen, Wendy and Catherine, her beloved grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and her wide circle of friends in Dublin, Limerick and throughout the golfing world.

Predeceased by her brothers Paddy and Raymond. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Thomas Street this Thursday (24 August) from 6pm to 7.30pm. Funeral arriving at Saint Peter and Paul's Church, Crecora on Friday (25 August) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.


The death has occurred of John B McEvoy of Knockpatrick, Foynes, Limerick / Tipperary Town, Tipperary

John B McEvoy (Knockpatrick, Foynes, Limerick and formerly of Tipperary town) died peacefully on Monday, August 21 in the tender loving care of the staff of St Catherine’s Nursing Home, Newcastle west. Predeceased by sister Sr Noeline and brother Willie.

Sadly missed by his loving wife Ann (nee O’Keeffe formerly of Irishtown, Clonmel), twin sister Carmel Hopkins (UK),brothers Michael (Portlaoise),Paddy (UK), brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass at 12 o’clock on Saturday (August 26) in St Mary’s Church, Gambonsfield (Eircode E91DH76) Kilsheelan, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank all the Management and staff at St Catherine’s Nursing Home, Newcastlewest, Co. Limerick, who gave wonderful care and respect to John during his illness, to John’s neighbours and close friends for their kindness and support during this difficult time.


The death has occurred of Marie Fagan (née O' Connor) of Rose Cottage, Wood Road, Cratloe, Clare, V95 K8H7 / Limerick City, Limerick

Marie Fagan (nee O’Connor), Rose Cottage, Wood Rd., Cratloe, Co. Clare. Formerly of Wolfe Tone Street, Limerick. August 22, peacefully.

Beloved wife of the late Dermot. Dearly loved mother of Majella and the late Derek. Sadly missed by her loving sister Ann, her granddaughters Tara and Amanda, great-granddaughters Holly and Elsie and her son-in-law Ger, extended family and friends.

Reposing at her home (V95 K8H7) on Friday evening (August 25) from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral arriving at St. John’s Church, Cratloe on Saturday (26th August) for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in Craughaun Cemetery, Cratloe.


The death has occurred of Catherine (Ca) McCarthy-Atkinson of Limerick

Very deeply regretted by her daughter Chantele, grandchildren Sam, Tommylee, Mikey and Perlise, sister Nancy, niece Leonie, nephew Lee, other relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cross's Funeral Home, Gerald Griffin Street, on Friday, August 25 from 9.30am to 11am, followed by removal to St. Michael's Church, Denmark Street, for Requiem Mass at 11.30am, funeral afterwards to Mount St. Oliver Cemetery.


The death has occurred of Eileen Randles of Rathfarnham, Dublin / Kilmallock, Limerick

Eileen Randles, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14, (formerly of Kilmallock, Co. Limerick) -  20 June (peacefully) surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of Highfield Healthcare and previously Annabeg Nursing Home.

Eileen, beloved sister of Gertrude, Anne and the late Paddy, Claire and Mary, adored aunt of Eileen, Julie, David, Stephen, Honor, Niall and Donn and all her grand nieces and nephews, sadly and lovingly missed by all her family, extended family and friends.

Eileen's ashes will be laid to rest in her native Kilmallock on Saturday, 26 August, at 12 noon following her graveside service at Kilmallock Cemetery where Eileen will be interred at the family grave.
