Gortatlea Mart enjoyed an exceptional 2025 Show & amp; Sales season with record-breaking
prices, outstanding stock, and incredible community support throughout August and
September. Each event brought energy, quality, and pride to the ring, showcasing the
dedication of farmers, buyers, and sponsors alike. The Weanling Bull Show & Sale on 20th
August saw record-breaking prices reaching an astonishing €10.49/kg, with outstanding
stock achieving top prices and farmers rightly proud of their animals. The Weanling Heifer
Show & Sale on 27th August followed with another fantastic evening, a buzzing atmosphere,
and top-quality heifers fetching up to €14.71/kg, reflecting the exceptional standard of stock
on offer. The highly anticipated Suckler Show & Sale on 4th September proved an
outstanding success, with an electric atmosphere, a packed ring, and trade exceeding all
expectations as a record-breaking €9000 was achieved on the night. The Beef & Store Cow
Show & Sale on 18th September enjoyed a fantastic turnout, lively atmosphere, and strong
trade with exceptional quality stock throughout. Finally, Day 2 of the split Beef & Store Show
& Sale on 19th September rounded off the season in style, featuring smashing stock, a jam-
packed ring of buyers, and another night of strong trade—marking a truly remarkable
conclusion to an incredible two days and an unforgettable 2025 season at Gortatlea Mart.
Gortatlea Mart hosted its Biggest Ever Dairy Show & Sale, featuring an impressive 150
outstanding dairy lots that drew massive crowds and exceptional demand from start to finish.
Despite the uncertain times faced by dairy farmers with the current drop in milk prices, the
atmosphere on the day was electric, trade was flying, and prices remained strong throughout
— a true reflection of the quality of stock and the hard work of our dedicated dairy farmers.
Top prices reached an impressive €3,420, with buyers travelling from across the region to
secure some of the finest dairy cattle seen in recent years.
