A GARDA who was struck by a motorist in a hit-and-run incident in Limerick has been treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an incident of endangerment that occurred in the Brú na Gruadán estate, Castletroy on Monday, February 10.
"Gardaí, while responding to an unrelated incident, were alerted to a vehicle in the area travelling on false license plates," a garda spokesperson confirmed.
"A car was identified and during an attempt to coordinate a controlled stop, the car struck a garda and fled the scene.
"The garda was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries."

Investigating gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the Brú na Gruadán estate, Castletroy, and surrounding areas between 6pm and 6.30pm to contact them.
Any persons with mobile phone or dash cam footage are also asked to make that footage available.
