The search is on for two masked raiders who entered a bookmakers in a busy Midland town spot and stole money.

Gardaí received report of an incident of robbery that occurred in a premises on Earl Street, Longford Town at approximately 6:45pm on Sunday, March 3.

It is understood that the pair entered the betting shop and threatened staff with pepper spray, before demanding for cash and stealing a sum of money.

The raid, which was captured on CCTV, lasted only a matter of seconds with the pair making off on foot.

No injuries were reported to gardaí and no arrests have been made at this time.

Gardaí have said that investigations are ongoing at this time.
