'Mediterranean vibes and high-style take over the city’s historic heart!' - Celia Holman Lee

My week with Celia Holman Lee: Mediterranean soirée and on the hunt for fashion fix

'Mediterranean vibes and high-style take over the city’s historic heart!' - Celia Holman Lee

IT HAS been a beautiful season of celebration and reflection and I had the pleasure of attending a truly elegant, Mediterranean-inspired garden terrace party at the five-star, luxurious InterContinental Hotel in the heart of Dublin.

The setting was stunning, with floral arrangements, fine linen, and a warm summer breeze that carried the buzz of conversation and laughter.

It was one of those magical afternoons where fashion and friendship blended seamlessly.

An Amalfi Coast-inspired style party featured a host of exotic delights and a variety of famous faces were in attendance, including Louis Walsh, Alan Hughes and Doireann Garrihy, among many others!

Separately, and just as close to my heart, was the incredible fashion show with Limerick College of Further Education and Training, Mulgrave Street Campus, as part of their Art Week.

It was hosted in the wonderful Hunt Museum, a true gem and capsule of history in the city.

The fashion course was started in 1990 by Hanora Hartnett, who set it up because she saw a gap in this area and a feeder for Limerick School of Art and Design (LSAD ).

At the time there was one class with 16 learners.

It grew from strength to strength and they have since won several awards, with students who have gone on to have very successful careers in the fashion industry.

What a moment that fashion show was, too!

The energy, the talent and the creativity felt like coming full circle. To see them showcasing their work fills me with pride.

Both events, in their own way, celebrated style and a deep sense of legacy and it is a true pleasure to have been a part of it all.
