Air ambulance attends scene of Limerick road crash

An Air Ambulance has been deployed to the scene of the crash

AN air ambulance has been dispatched to the scene of a serious road collision in West Limerick.

The two-car collision occurred shortly after 4.30pm this Wednesday on the R522 between Dromcollogher and Feohanagh.

Two units of Limerick Fire and Rescue service from Newcastle West and Rathkeale are in attendance along with local gardai and paramedics.

An Air Ambulance, which is operated by the Air Corps, was requested at attend to assist with the removal of a casualty to hospital.

It’s understood a man and a woman were injured in the head-on collision. While at least one of them has sustained serious injuries, they are not believed to be life threatening.

Diversions are in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
