THE Limerick District League agonisingly missed out on the chance to become 2025 SFAI Kennedy Cup Plate champions after falling to a heart-breaking 3-2 defeat to Waterford at UL on Friday.

The Limerick side did lead 2-0 in the match thanks to goals from Adam O'Shea and Calum Maher but, to Waterford's credit, they never gave in and staged a remarkable comeback to draw level before claiming a dramatic success.
