A MOUTHWATERING weekend of sport awaits and Limerick is at the heart of it all!
If you’ve been living in a bunker this past week, or simply tune out at the mention of sport, here’s what you need to know:
Munster Rugby have taken the long road - to South Africa no less - in search of silverware ahead of Saturday’s URC Grand Final against the DHL Stormers (5.30pm Irish time). Graham Rowntree’s side are now just 80 minutes away from quietening the critics and giving the proud Red Army a reason to fan their feathers.
Fast forward 24 hours and the spotlight moves from Cape Town’s DHL Stadium to Limerick city’s TUS Gaelic Grounds where again the stakes are high - it’s do or die.
The Treatymen face a wounded Cork in a winner-takes-all clash in the Munster Senior Hurling Championship. For those of us who like to keep the permutations simple, all we need to know is a win for either Limerick or Cork will guarantee their season continues but a defeat will see their campaign come to an abrupt end.

As we edge closer and closer to kick-off and throw-in time, let’s get behind our men by flying our flags - red (Munster red as opposed to Rebel red) and the green of Limerick GAA.
The sight of these flags fluttering in the wind across the city and county can only build on that sense of pride that we feel for the place we belong, reminding us that we are part of something far greater than ourselves.
Email us photos of you and your flags and colours at your home, workplace or local community to news@limerickleader.ie and we’d be delighted to share them over the coming days and one lucky entry will win a prize. (Don't forget your name and where you're from).
Come On Munster! Agus Luimneach Abu!
