WATCH: Chef Neven Maguire recalls people grabbing steak from plates at his first Ploughing

Chef Neven Maguire has recalled his first memory of the National Ploughing Championship, 15 years after he first cooked at the event.

Speaking to reporter, Siobhan Donohoe, Neven said, "I love the Ploughing, it's the people that make it for me.

"At my very first Ploughing, I remember presenting a steak dish - my mother's recipe - and people grabbing the food off the plate!

"I have great memories, people are brilliant here."

The acclaimed chef went on to praise his brother Kenny, who is also a chef, for setting up his kitchen stand at this year's Ploughing event.

His cookery demonstrations are on from 1pm to 2.30pm every day of the Ploughing, which takes place today (Wednesday September 20) and Thursday September 21.
