LIMERICK senior hurling manager John Kiely admitted his team's first-half display was 'not good enough' to beat 'the Rebels' in their home pitch at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday evening.
"We put ourselves in a position to win the game with four points up and we should have really closed off the game at that stage so that is for us to go away and try and fix.
"We are giving ourselves too much to do at the end of games and it's jsut not possible the first-half was seriously disappointing if I am being honest. Everything is not lost or won here tonight but we will regroup now and we are thankful to be heading back to the Gaelic Grounds in two weeks time."
It was an uphill battle from the beginning for the Treaty Men who were behind Cork for nearly the entire game until Seamus Flanagan's third goal of the match boosted them into the lead.
An injury time penalty for Cork was their saving grace as Patrick Horgan added to his tally scoring 1-10 for his side to solidify the Rebels first win of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.
Limerick will face Waterford in the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Sunday, May 26 at 4pm in their next round of the Munster Senior Hurling Championship.
