Limerick made it three wins on the bounce in the National Hurling League with a 2-19 to 0-17 success over Offaly in Tullamore on Sunday

LIMERICK senior hurlers made it three wins on the bounce in Division 1A of the Allianz Hurling League thanks to a 2-19 to 0-17 success over Offaly at Glenisk O'Connor Park, Tullamore on Sunday afternoon.

Aidan O’Connor notched 0-10 for the Shannonsiders in their latest league win, including eight first half points, in the eight point success.

It marked the third game in a row that the Ballybrown man got his personal tally into double figures.

Despite a display that was at times lacklustre, two goals in three minutes from Shane O’Brien and Cathal O’Neill made it a hat-trick of wins in a row for John Kiely’s side who had seen off Kilkenny and Tipperary in recent weeks.

With two home games to round off the group stage, the Treaty are now in a strong place to reach the final which will be played in the first weekend of April.

First up is a mouth-watering clash with arch rivals Cork at the TUS Gaelic Grounds on Saturday evening next, 7pm, live on TG4.
