CIARAN Carey was delighted to see his side record their first win in this year's Limerick SHC. Patrickswell cruised to a comprehensive victory over Mungret St Paul's.
"To be fair, we played well in the last two games in patches. If we played well for the hour and ten minutes, I've no doubt the result would have been likewise. I was thrilled for the boys. They were under a bit of pressure. All we were looking for was a performance and the scoreboard reflected that" said Patrickswell manager Ciaran Carey.
It is Carey's third time in charge of Patrickswell. The former Limerick hurler is enjoying his return to club management.
"I am, it wasn't something I was looking to do. I am one of these guys when I'm away from it, I stay away from it. When I'm involved then, I've the old hat on me again. There's something special when you're involved in your own club. That's the reason why I went back."
After the game, Leader Sport caught up with Ciaran Carey.
