LIMERICK Racecourse was the scene of tension-filled drama last weekend as the Greenmount Park venue hosted the counts for the two Limerick constituencies in the general election.
The focus will switch from all things elections to top class National Hunt horse racing later this month as Limerick Racecourse stages the four-day Mr Binman Limerick Christmas Racing Festival from St Stephen's Day to December 29.
The Limerick Leader's Donal O'Regan caught up with Limerick Racecourse CEO Michael Lynch ahead of the racing bonanza which is one of the biggest annual sporting and social highlights in Munster.
