LABOUR COUNCILLOR Joe Leddin has been elected for a sixth straight time.
The City West councillor, based at South Circular Road, passed the quota after the ninth count in City West, thanks to a transfer of 508 from eliminated Green Party councillor Peter Spencer.
Cllr Leddin has upped his vote again, securing a final tally of 1,538 and he expressed his pride at the achievement.
"It's been an emotional rollercoaster. You think about people who haven't been elected today in the city and county or even around the country," Cllr Leddin said, flanked by his supporters.

He also kept a good friend of his, who is in hospital in his thoughts upon his election.
"Elections bring out the emotions in everyone. It is humbling to be re-electred for the sixth time. But it's down to the people of Limerick City West. It's a privilege and honour to represent people of Limerick city and county"
He is the third candidate elected in the seven-seater City West constituency.
Independent councillor Sean Lynch was eliminated on this count, with his vote of 653 now being transferred.
Cllr Leddin's surplus of 18 will be kept for possible use later.
He becomes the third and final Labour councillor returned to Limerick City and County Council: joining Cllr Conor Sheahan, elected on the northside last night, and Cllr Elena Secas earlier today.
There are still four seats to be filled in City West, with seven still in the race.
