Burst water main causes flooding and outages in Limerick

A BURST water main has caused flooding and has left some people in the Limerick city area without water.

The main flooding has occurred on the Old Ballysimon Road near City East Retail Park.

The video above shows water gushing onto the Old Ballysimon Road as traffic tries to navigate the flooding.

It is understood that businesses in the area were subject to flood damage and had to close early for the remainder of the evening.

According to the Uisce Éireann website: "Works are scheduled to take place until 11am on 25 November." This will leave those affected by the burst water main without water until tomorrow.
