MUNGRET St Pauls got their Limerick Senior Football Championship campaign off to the perfect start with a 2-14 to 0-03 victory over Na Piarsaigh on Friday evening at Claughan.
It was a game where the newly promoted side dictated the play defending with a huge intensity and attacking at pace at any they got.
Last year's intermediate county champions led 1-08 to 0-02 with their goal coming from Ciaran deane on 29 minutes.
The victors kept the scoreboard ticking in the second half and Shane Barry raised their second green flag of the day.
It was a comfortable victory for Mungret St Pauls and a defeat never looked likely at any stage.
After the game, Leader sport caught up with Mungret St Pauls manager Kevin O'Hagan.
There is no rest with round two of the Limerick SFC taking place next week.
O'Hagan's charges face Adare next Thursday July 4 at 7:30pm in Askeaton
