Limerick junior soccer stars to represent Ireland in Regions Cup

An 18-man squad from 11 clubs across Munster to represent Ireland at Turners Cross
THREE local players have been picked for a team that will represent Ireland in the upcoming Regions Cup that will take place in Cork.
Fairview Rangers duo Jason Cross and Jake Dillon, as well as Aisling Annacotty’s Conor Coughlan are part of the 18-man squad that will play three games next month at Turners Cross.
The squad is made up of players across a solely Munster based squad for the fixtures against Uzda, Malta and Split.
Munster also represented Ireland in Switzerland two years ago, narrowly missing out on a place in the main tournament.
Former Fairview player and manager Jason Purcell’s is in charge of the squad for the tournament.
“The preparation has gone really well. The trips to the UK and Northern Ireland gave us competitive friendlies and helped the lads build as a group.
“We’ve assembled a great squad, with players from clubs and leagues right across Munster, and every one of them is ready for this.”
“To be the home team, in front of our own supporters in Cork, is something special. We’re representing Ireland, and we’ll do it with pride.
“We’d love to see people come out and get behind the lads at Munster FA Turner’s Cross.”
The Fairview link with the side is further enhanced by assistant coaches Stuart Fitzgerald, Mike Costello and Greg Foley all part of Purcell’s backroom team.
The fixtures at Turners Cross take place on November 1, 4 and 7 and the full squad picked by Purcell is as follows:
Craig Dunphy (Villa FC), Shane Hallahan (Midleton FC), Jake Dillon (Fairview Rangers), Adam Conway (Villa FC), Keelan Crowley (College Corinthians), Sean Guerins (BT Harps), John Tamen (Villa FC), Cian Murphy (Rockmount AFC), Jason Cross (Fairview Rangers), Christopher McCarthy (Ringmahon Rangers), Matt Keane (Killarney Celtic), Jamie O’Sullivan (Ringmahon Rangers), Conor Kilgannon (Villa FC), Conor Coughlan (Aisling Annacotty), Luke Casey (Coachford), Eoin Murphy (Rockmount AFC), Jack Cairns (Ringmahon Rangers) and Eoin Hayes (Newmarket Celtic).
