THREE Limerick teams have learned their fixture details for the Munster club championships.

The winners of the Whitebox Senior Hurling Championship, Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship and Woodlands House Hotel Premier Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship all earned the right to compete for provincial honours. However, as the Junior champion Doon side was a second-string outfit, the place in the provincial championship goes to runners-up Caherline.

The east Limerick side will have to overcome the disappointment of losing the county final as they prepare to welcome Kerry side Dr Crokes to their home venue on Saturday, October 14 at 1.15pm.

The fixture comes five years after their last venture into the Munster JHC. In 2021, they fell to a two-point defeat to Ballygiblin in the Munster semi-final. The north Cork men went all the way to the All-Ireland final that year.

It is the second time the east Limerick side will play Kerry opposition. Back in 2007, they were also suffered a two-point defeat, this time to Kilgarvan.

Elsewhere, senior champions Kilmallock travel to Waterford to take on Ballygunner. The match takes place at Azzurri Walsh Park on Sunday, October 15 at 1.15pm.

The sides last met in the 2021 Munster club final where the Deise side were convincing winners. The Balbec did record a win that year against Midleton in their last Munster semi-final.

Kilmallock won this competition in both 1992 and 2014

At the same time as Kilmallock play, the south Limerick town hosts a Munster IHC clash. Dromin-Athlacca take on Banner champions Clarecastle.

Dromin-Athlacca were beaten by Clare opposition in the last provincial championship clash, losing the 2023 semi-final to Corofin.

In 2013, they suffered a one-point loss against Tipperary side Ballina on a day where nominated Bruff as their home venue.
