Limerick had 13 players nominated for the 2026 awards that were held at the RDS in Dublin

NINE Limerick players have been named on the 2026 PwC GAA/GPA hurling All-Star team at the awards ceremony at the RDS in Dublin.

John Kiely’s men won the National Hurling League, Munster Championship and All-Ireland Championship this year and have been recognised at the highest stage this evening.

Nickie Quaid won his fourth All-Star on the night, beating off competition from Waterford’s Billy Nolan and Clare’s Eibhear Quilligan.

South Liberties’ defender Barry Nash was the only Limerick player named in the full back line - his third award.

It’s an all-Limerick half back line with Diarmaid Byrnes, William O’Donoghue and Kyle Hayes picked on the team.

Byrnes has earned his fifth All-Star award; O’Donoghue his third and Hayes winning an incredible sixth All-Star.

Adam English won his very first All-Star in midfield to cap off a fantastic year for the Doon clubman.

It was also a clean sweep in the half forward line for Limerick with Gearóid Hegarty, Aidan O’Connor and Cathal O’Neill all getting awards. It’s Hegarty’s fifth, while it’s the first award for both O’Connor and O’Neill.

Surprisingly, there was no place on the team for Peter Casey who had an outstanding year, while Sean Finn, Cian Lynch and Shane O’Brien the other Limerick players not to win an All-Star.
