Business group’s tournament at Castletroy Golf Club once again a roaring success

IT was all eyes on the tees at Castletroy Golf Club as Limerick Chamber hosted one of its key events of the year.

Business professionals, corporate sponsors and community supporters from across the region attended the business group’s annual golf classic.

And there were celebrations for staff of accountancy firm EY’s consulting arm, EY Parthenon.

For they gained top honours and the grand prize, donated by Trump International Ireland.

Despite the rain, Limerick Chamber has said the day was a great success, and paid tribute to the event’s title sponsor, Annacotty microbiology firm Serosep.

Emma Morgan, the chief financial officer of Serosep, said: “Serosep is delighted to sponsor the golf classic, supporting an event that celebrates the strength, collaboration and community spirit of Limerick’s business network. We are proud to play a part in bringing local businesses together and fostering meaningful connections.”

Lisa Kirwan, director of member services at Limerick Chamber, added: “Despite the weather, the smiles, laughter and great spirit throughout the day made the golf classic a real success, and we are genuinely grateful to everyone who took part, supported the event and refused to let a small matter of rain dampen the occasion. We’re already planning next year’s classic!"

Eanna Brennan, partner at EY-Parthenon and a member of the winning team of the golf classic, said: “We are delighted to have taken part in another excellent day out in support of Limerick Chamber.

"A huge thank you to the entire Chamber team for all of the organising that goes on behind the scenes to make the day a success.”

Chamber gave a special mention to Graham Burns of recruitment firm CPL for his dilligence in keeping score.

Castletroy Golf Club staff were thanked for their warm hospitality, as were the numerous tee-box and prize sponsors whose contributions made the event possible.

Next on the agenda for Limerick Chamber is its annual business awards.

These take place in the Limerick Strand Hotel on the evening of Friday, November 13 next.

More than 400 people are expected at the black-tie event, with 23 companies from across the region competing to win awards.

Now in its 15th year, these achievements are across a broad range of sectors, from emerging enterprises to established companies, as well as organisations making a significant contribution to their employees, the communities where they operate and the wider regional economy.
