Huge round of Premier Intermediate Hurling games at both ends of the table

Leaders Murroe-Boher put their 100% record on the line when they take on Effin in Doon

THERE are two games down for decision in the Lyons of Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship on Wednesday (both 7.30 throw-in).
Leaders Murroe-Boher put their 100% record on the line when they take on Effin in Doon.
No team has ever won seven games in a row in the Premier IHC group stage with the only 100% records in round robin series at this level coming during Covid-era condensed groups.
The south Limerick side are one of three teams on four points and currently occupy the fourth and final knockout spot.
In Knocklong, Blackrock take on Dromin-Athlacca. Relegated from senior ranks last year, Dromin-Athlacca are seemingly sitting comfortably in second place but need another point from their last two games to be assured of a semi-final spot.
The Rockies came good in the closing stages of the group last year, scoring two double-digit wins in the last two games in the group to reach the semi-finals on score difference.
The other midweek game sees Granagh-Ballingarry look to back up their win over Effin when they take on Bruff on Thursday. On six points, the Stars are currently on their own in third place.
The game takes place in Kilfinane at 5.45pm.
On Saturday there is a huge game at the bottom of the table as Glenroe and Croagh-Kilfinny do battle in Kilmallock at 1pm. Defeat for either side will have them favourites for relegation.
