TWO interesting David Bowie themed events are taking place in Limerick to mark the great man’s recent passing.
On Friday night, Dolan’s Warehouse plays host A Tribute to Bowie, featuring the cream of the crop of the local music scene, banding together to raise funds for Milford Hospice as well as celebrating Bowie's music.
The gig (doors 9pm, tickets €10) will feature Windings, Shardborne, Parliament Square, Fall Dogs, Theme Tune Boy, Ronan Mitchell of Fox Jaw, Siobhan O'Brien, Eamon Hehir, The Alvin Purple Experience and Ann and David Blake of the BPLO, plus a DJ set from Eoin Devereux.
Next Tuesday, the UCH kicks off a new film season with a screening of Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, starring Bowie, with all proceeds from the evening going to the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.
