In Pictures: Out and about on day one of the Kaleidoscope festival

RUSSBOROUGH House in County Wicklow swung open its gates this Friday for Ireland’s leading music and arts family festival Kaleidoscope.

Families from all over the country, including Limerick, arrived bright and early to set up the camp for the weekend, well equipped for the Irish summer. From babes in arms to teens and grannies, there was something for everyone.

The mainstage action kicked off with The Graham Smyth Supertuniverse Disco Trip – which brought the young and young to at heart to infinity and beyond with Disney anthems – followed by Róisín O, B*Witched and DJ Jen Payne.

Elsewhere in the Rumpledumpus tent, open rehearsals began for families who will join the Dublin Gospel Choir on stage on Sunday evening for a performance on the main stage.

The Groovy Kitchen Disco with DJ Will Softly had the young ones bopping up and down whilst a treat was in store for the grown ups with an adults wine tasting and stories in the Scrumdiddlyumptious Festival of Food.

As always the biggest bouncy castle in Europe proved a massive attraction, while the vintage funfair including the Ferris Wheel from Grease were a huge hit for all ages.
