There have been reports of a tornado in Carlow this Sunday morning.

There were reports from near Leighlinbridge of a "sudden wind event ahead of heavy shower", according to forecaster Alan O'Reilly.

He added that garden furniture was reportedly "thrown into the air" and asked if any other followers in that area had seen it.

One follower, Shane Delaney, recorded the phenomenon as it moved through the area.

Alan wrote on X: "Shane Delaney recorded this very nearby around the same time as that sudden wind was reported by another follower. Possible small and short lived tornado in Carlow this morning!!"
