CAMOGUE Rovers recently held a centenary banquet at Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel in Adare to mark the club's significant milestone.

Camogue Rovers was founded at the cross of Clorane in the summer of 1925, first officers were William Sheehan, Jack Quaid, Tim Morey and Dinny Mulcahy.
The name Camogue Rovers was selected as most of the first junior hurling team were from the banks of the Camogue river. In 1926 Camogue won the inaugural south hurling championship beating Hospital 2-01 to 1-03, they contested the 1929 final again losing to Hospital 2-04 to 2-02.
In 1954, the club was revived after a lapse of 20 years in Meanus School. Mike Quaid President, Tom Mulcahy Chairman, Paddy Naughton Treasurer and Frank Greene Secretary.
For the first few years it was only a hurling club. 1958 rovers won the south junior B championship in Football defeating Knockainey 1-04 to 0-02.
In June of this year the Rovers acquired their own field through the land commission for £450, money was raised by house-to-house collections. In 1959 they retained their south title defeating Garryspillane 1-08 to 0-09.
In 1961 all hurling went to Bruff and Football came under Camogue Rovers. In 1962 Rovers again fielded in both codes. In 1964, Rovers contested the south shield final in hurling where they won against Banogue 3-04 to 2-01.
Rovers also fielded an U16 football team and won the south championship defeating Galbally 3-04 0-04. Again in 1968, both teams joined for hurling. In 1970 rovers won the south football final against Ballylanders 2-06 to 0-09. Again, in 1974, both Rovers and Bruff joined again, Bruff hurling, Rovers Football.
In 1985 Rovers won their first south hurling title since 1929 beating Glenroe 2-09 to 1-04. Pat Murnane south Chairman and former Rovers chairman presented the cup to Pat O’Rourke. Rovers got to a County Novice hurling final in 1986 losing out to Ardagh 3-05 to 2-06.
Again, in 1991 the club won the south final beating CTB 3-06 to 0-06. In 1995 Rovers won a south football final against Garryspillane 1-10 to 0-08 but lost out in the county final after a replay 1-10 to 0-11.
In 2022, the club won another south title beating Bruree 2-09 to 2-07, where Pat Murnane presented the cup to his son Ger. Camogue lost out in the county semi to GB 2-08 to 0-10. Again, in 2003, Rovers won the south hurling final beating Blackrock 2-10 to 1-04.
The club won the south huring title in 2016, football in 2010,2012,2013,2014 and 2015.
The club went Junior A in 2021 due to restructuring with CB. Camogue lost out to Feenagh in ounty final same year.
In 2022, the club won south and county league within four days of each other but lost out to Mungret in semi final.
The club reached the county final in 2023 but lost out to Mungret and Ahane in 2024 and the club won their first county against Adare in 2025 in Kilmallock.
