'Accumulations' of snow possible as Met Éireann issues new weather warning for Limerick

MET Éireann has issued another weather warning for Limerick with a possibility of accumulations of snow in places.

The forecaster says rain, sleet and snow will spread northwards across the country this Wednesday night and during Thursday accompanied by strengthening easterly winds.

A nationwide Status Yellow snow/ice warning is due to come into effect at 3am on Thursday while a separate Status Yellow low temperature / ice warning will come into effect at 9pm on Thursday.

Motorists and other road users are being warned that hazardous driving conditions can be expected and that visibility is likely to be poor at times.

According to the Met Éireann website, lowest temperatures of between -2 to 0 degrees can be expected in Limerick on Wednesday night with frost and some icy stretches.
