Gary Huyah and Adam O'Brien from Sambros
A LIMERICK restaurant has been named the Best of Ireland at the ninth annual Just Eat Awards.
Sambros on Thomas Street in Limerick city took home the award and they also scored the top prize in the Best of Munster category.
The awards ,which celebrate and recognise Ireland’s favourite restaurants and takeaways, were hosted by TV presenter and podcaster, Muireann O’Connell at Dublin’s iconic Mansion House.
Located in the heart of Limerick city centre, Sambros has been serving its loyal customers since 2016.
Led by Irish chef, Gary Huyah and his great friend, Adam O’Brien, Sambros is inspired by Gary’s experiences working as a chef in a variety of Michelin Star restaurants in London.
Gary was influenced by this experience working in a smoke house in London which inspired the concept for Sambros.
Known for their innovative burgers, Sambros brings a whole new meaning to feel-good food. From the ultimate ‘Moist Maker’ burger, topped in gravy and served with roast potatoes, to the ‘Flaming Lane’ sandwich inspired by a fire that broke out in a laneway behind their restaurant,
Sambros truly leave nothing to spare when it comes to curating deliciously memorable dishes. To this day, their #SamFam community continues to grow, with customers regularly giving stellar reviews and five-star ratings.
A total of 150 restaurants were nominated under 16 categories, with shortlisted representatives from all over the country in attendance at the glamorous black-tie event.
Over 35,000 votes were cast for local and independent takeaways across Ireland in recent weeks. The ceremony saw a delectable array of restaurants commended for their hard work and dedication to delivering the highest standard of service and delicious food.
