PROMOTION play-off chasing Treaty United take on leaders Dundalk in a crucial SSE Airtricity League First Division fixture at Oriel Park on Friday night, 7.45pm.

Tommy Barrett's Treaty United side go into the game on the back of a gritty 2-1 victory over Bray Wanderers at the Markets Field on Friday night.

Lee Devitt scored a goal in each half as Treaty United deservedly claimed three valuable points in front of 1,049 people. Guillermo Almirall registered a late consolation goal for the visitors who were outplayed for most of the contest.

Treaty United sit in fourth place in the First Division table, 15 points behind pacesetters Dundalk. Crucially, Treaty enjoy a four point advantage over fifth-placed UCD.

Looking ahead to Friday's trip to Oriel Park, Tommy Barrett said: “Our away form needs to be better and we need to get a result against Dundalk. It’s going to be difficult (against Dundalk). They’re unbeaten still, they’re a really good side. We’ll definitely go up there and try to win the game.”

Both of the meetings of Treaty United and Dundlak to date in the First Division this season have ended in a draw with Tommy Barrett’s men acquitting themselves impressively both times.
